New on The Show:

Kathryn Anderson: A fairly new on the scene British artist released a 6 track EP The Road Less Travelled of all original songs, on Dec 29, 2013 which is available to purchase digitally on Amazon UK MP3 and UK iTunes
The now Uckfield, Sussex based 23 year old singer-songwriter a graduate in Popular Music Performance from Southampton Solent University first took an interest in country music via Taylor Swift’s early works then exploring other types of country music (Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Dixie Chicks). Soaking up the culture she has come to love the traditional classic sounds from the likes of Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline and Merle Haggard.
Kathryn introduced her music with a terrific single “Write A Letter” which appeared on the promotional Hotdisc (#168 Dec 2012) It spent 8 weeks on the top 20 of the Hotdisc Chart peaking at #3 on the Hotdisc Top 40 and #2 on the British & Irish Hotdisc Top 10 in February 2013. “This is a lovely track I think she's got a lot of potential, very nice indeed, so nice to hear her own song recorded professionally” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire (24 Aug 2012)
Kathryn’s songs are autobiographical (life experiences) and her aim is to write songs that her audience can relate to, with melodic patterns that are memorable.

Jessie Lee Cates
Born and raised in the hill country of Hamblen County, Tennessee, Jessie Lee was determined to use her God-given vocal talents to enrich others’ lives with her music.
She took second place at Kelly Pickler’s Kellioke Contest in Knoxville, and sang her songs at well-known Tennessee festivals such as the Foothills Fall Festival, where she opened for Jason Aldean, and at the East Tennessee Farm Relief concert, sharing the stage with Aaron Tippin. While performing in a local pub, she was discovered by Mike Hammond of Knoxville’s Q100 radio station, and was soon playing at some of Nashville’s best-known venues, including Tootsie’s and Puckett’s. A pending deal with Equity Records fell through when the label collapsed, but Jessie Lee was undaunted, working on her songwriting and singing skills as she worked the night shift on a factory assembly line.
Returning to Nashville in 2012, Jessie Lee brought her modern-classic-country-with-a-twist style to new fans and new venues, playing at Performing Writer’s well-respected songwriter showcase, and earning an invite to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, where she received a tremendous welcome from a wildly enthusiastic crowd.
Her debut EP, Let Your Country Out, which features the anthemic title cut, "The Boot," an unusual, up-tempo look at life "under the heel," and "Scotland," (promoted on Hotdisc) a celebration of her Scots-Irish heritage and the first modern country song ever to feature the bagpipe. It’s not your mother’s country, but every mother, father, brother or sister who tunes in on radio will leave the "dial" right where it is – hanging on every word sung straight from the soul of Jessie Lee Cates.

"Jessie Lee's 'Scotland' is a great homage to her Gaelic roots and indeed my own. It would make a great anthem for Scotland. Hearing bagpipes on a country record adds the icing on top." - Marie Crichton, BBC Radio Shropshire
