“Dixie Daughter” Off to an explosive start, and it’s alright by me - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

About: Leah Seawright
She was born and resides in Fort Payne, Alabama the home of southern rock band Alabama.
Leah was surrounded by music from birth; her parents are both musicians and singers. When she was in elementary school she developed a speech impediment and had to take classes, and was able to overcome it. In ninth grade she auditioned as a backup singer for a band and stayed with them for 2 years.
Leah wrote and recorded two gospel albums prior to her 2005 debut country album.
Leah and her drummer
Mark Herndon
 at the 2012 CMA Awards
In 2004 a few months after the birth of her third child she entered a local singing contest and won best Solo artist. One of the judges was Frank Green who writes 7 of the songs, plays multiple instruments and acts as engineer on the album COUNTRY GIRL 101 which marked the first country release for the attractive mother of three. Another coup was in hiring Mark Herndon the former rock drummer who helped give the group Alabama its signature sound. Leah sweet-talked the former stick man to come to her husband’s studio and check out the music she had recorded. Herndon played percussion and added background vocals on a couple of tracks and wrote the liner notes, recounting Seawright as being “genuine and authentic.”

On the long path Leah has been treading, much to her credit it has resulted in her writing and co-writing 13 of the 14 songs on this country debut. Her talents have been recognized getting the call to open for some notable stalwarts including Mark Chesnutt, John Michael Montgomery, Restless Heart and John Anderson.
In describing Leah’s voice it’s as if Tanya Tucker, Pat Benatar and Janis Joplin had all taken a sip from the same cup of coffee. COUNTRY GIRL 101 (>> Watch the title cut YouTube ) showed much promise but the tracks were a bit too one dimensional.
Taste Of Country described her single ‘On the Backroads’ as a “strong dose of anthemic ’80s pop-rock blends with country throughout”
In 2012, Leah went into the studio again to complete her second country project (six song EP) a collaboration with producer Jeremy Stover (the wizard behind Justin Moore’s string of top Country hits). The first charting single released was Leah’s raucous 'Til Your Boots Are Dirty'. Leah wrote two of the six cuts in the new collection including 'Mama Prayed' which celebrated the redemption that comes from a mothers faith and unconditional love and 'Dixie Daughter' full of sassy southern pride. As part of the release promotion for the first single, Seawright teamed up with Montana Silversmiths, the world’s leading western buckle and jewelry maker as celebrity endorsee for the organization and brand.
Currently, Seawright has released a third single from the EP, “Dixie Daughter” described on her website as “full of Alabama soul that's tender and tough. The tune hooks you from the beginning, written from the viewpoint of the American "girl next door".

On March 17, 2014 “Dixie Daughter” was sent to radio and she is slated to follow up the release with nationwide radio promotion and ongoing performance tour. Look out for Leah, she is high octane!

“Won't Be Young Forever”  Something new now to get up and dance to, written with The Warren Bros nice vibe to it - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

About: Dakota Bradley
A country/pop, singer/songwriter hails from St. Louis, Mo.
He grew up in St. Louis playing basketball, soccer, hockey and football.
He was listened to bands line Guns & Roses, Aerosmith and Motley Crue. But, his bio continues “ when he discovered the heart-tugging lyrics of country music a few years later, he had found a home.”

When Dakota was in eighth grade, he formed a band with some friends, and began playing in local clubs around town. He and his family moved to Nashville when he was in his early teens, but when he turned 16, he went through some trying times that gave him plenty of fuel to power his dreams of a bigger and better life. His home burned down to the ground, then his stepdad, who suffered from addiction problems, left the family. But his fortune quickly turned around when he met a manager who wanted to represent him. His manager hooked him up with another aspiring artist, and the two made a video of a song they performed together, “The Girl Is Mine,” that eventually became an internet sensation. From there he made his debut television performance on the high profile Ellen DeGeneres Show!
His first single, “Somethin’ Like Somethin’”, was produced by Tim McGraw and Byron Gallimore (who signed him to his new label, Soundstream Records). It debuted on the Billboard Country Airplay chart at No.60.
Dakota at the
2013 ACM's
The uptempo track was written by Mark Irwin, Josh Kear, and Shane McAnally. “Dakota is the real deal,” said McGraw. “He is a great young artist who defies the trends and lives for his music. His voice is unique and instantly recognizable, and his ability to convey pure emotion in his music draws the listener in from the very first word of every song. Working with him on this project has been a lot of fun. The single is a great summer song and I really think Country radio is going to dig it.”
I am truly blessed to have had Byron Gallimore and Tim McGraw co-produce the single and my album,” said Bradley. “I pinch myself everyday to make sure this isn’t a dream. I am really thankful for them both and for Streamsound Records for taking a chance on me.”
He visited radio stations for three months on a national radio tour making impromptu appearances. He also appeared at the ACM Awards in 2013. Watch his ACM red carpet interview http://bcove.me/bfn2e1vc where with his T-shirt he displayed the country music version of Mount Rushmore!

Dakota describes his music this way — “I sing like a rock singer like Steven Tyler, but I sound country. I think people are gonna like me, because my music is honest and it’s real. I really sell it live…I take performing and my career really seriously, ‘cause I gave up a lot to do this.”
Now a 20-year old, Dakota’s latest single “Won’t Be Young Forever” was sent to radio on March 18, 2014. This, his follow-up to his Top 50 Hit, "Somethin’ Like Somethin’!" is again produced by Byron Gallimore and Tim McGraw.

  • Music Week.com - Smart phones top device for UK country fans….UK country fans are mainly using smart phones to access music from the genre because of a lack of homegrown radio stations playing it. Research undertaken by the Country Music Association found 77% of followers listened to the music in that way, while 62% did so via a laptop and 57% via radio....There was also evidence of UK fans accessing country music stations in the US to hear the music. This appears to reflect little support for country music on the main UK stations, outside BBC Radio 2.

"Love is War" - I really like the sound of their music, they really are very good, great little track - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Hot new duo American Young performed at the 2013 ACM Songwriter Show. Lee Brice’s Hard 2 Love album included several songs co-written and co-produced by label mate, Jon Stone of new duo American Young, which also includes Kristy Osmunson. On the 2013 ACM red carpet Jon spoke about his Song of the Year nomination for Brice’s “A Woman Like You”. Their album will be co-produced by Lee Brice and Justin Neibank.

About American Young:
Blurb: The name conjures up something big, something that stands for something. No doubt, it’s creators - songsmiths, producers and entertainers, Jon Stone and Kristy Osmunson declare it this way. It’s more than a name. It’s a movement. Jon and Kristy both exude an unparalleled passion for music and more importantly it’s meaning. They are seasoned veterans on how music can inherently affect emotion and even culture. The collaborative fresh new duo already claim song-writing credits for hit makers Kenny Chesney, Lee Brice, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton and more.
Jon Stone and Kristy Osmunson have both been in Nashville and have explored their options in country music before. Jon as a solo act, then a successful producer and songwriter (“Me and My Gang,” “A Woman Like You”) and Kristy as a founding member and sizzling fiddle player of the duo Bomshel.
According to their Press Release it states: But what isn’t familiar is their music. That’s because no one—NO ONE—is making music like this. Yes, it is absolutely country with its often picturesque, usually compelling, sometimes downright gripping lyrics. Absolutely country with arrangements and instrumentation that brings those lyrics and effortless vocals so far forward they reach past your auditory and right into your heart, right into your soul, right into your gut. From the easy, almost hushed jangly plea of “Love Is War,” to the driving, fiddle-laden anger of “Wasn’t Gonna Drink Tonight,” American Young isn’t content with their audience being passive listeners to their music. They want them to feel it in their soul. That’s the sign of two artists so impassioned, so eaten up with making music that they can’t help but do it.

Tapping the vocal ability of both Jon and Kristy—a talent she wasn’t aware she even had—has revealed an earthy, organic and authentic sound that has developed naturally and effortlessly. The relationship between the two is very yin and yang. Jon—the consummate, meticulous producer, focused on perfect tones and notes – Source Press Release

Their single "Love is War" (Curb Records) was released to country radio on August 6, 2013 (>> Watch the Official Lyric Video)
It made a debut at No.60 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart and peaked at #44.
For this first outing they chose an outside song written by Billy Montana, Kylie Sackley, and Jonathan Singleton. It was co-produced by Stone with award-winning engineer Justin Niebank. The slightly Orwellian title, ‘Love is War,’ may lead you to believe there is no positive message to be expected here, but the song is a plea to not give up on the most important thing we have – love. It may not always be sunshine and roses but it is always worth fighting for:

Sometimes love is a white flag
Sometimes love is standing tall
Sometimes love is a feather
Sometimes a cannonball
But it’s worth, worth fighting for
Baby, sometimes love is war

“We’re Out Of Here” – “recruited a fine voice, brand new duet really like that”  -
Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

David Grey and Lisa Lee Albritton
Their duet single “We’re Out Of Here” (CAT 5 Records), written by Marianne Allison and David Grey, was released to country radio on March 13, 2014 taken from an album to be released titled LIVING FOR THE WEEKEND
"We're Out of Here" is as good as it gets, I can't stop listening to it...David and Lisa has a monster hit here! " - Stance A. Bingham
WKNN K99 Country

About David Grey (Song Writer, Producer & President of Cat 5 Records)
Born and raised in Gulfport , Ms., David Grey, began his musical career ‘later’ in life. Auto racing was in his blood, his uncle, Joe Caspelich, was a Charter Member of the "Pure Darlington Record Club" in 1960 in NASCAR, and was rated the "Dark Horse"
At the age of 15 David started a family business, Steel Brothers Race Cars and built and worked on over a 300 race cars. Music was also in David's family, he received a guitar as a graduation gift and before long, he was playing and writing songs. In 1989, he worked with, Wanda Mallette, who had written such hits as “Looking for Love” (Johnny Lee) and “Just Another Woman in Love” (Anne Murray) recognized his raw talent and signed him to a development deal, as an artist/writer with Wanda Mallette Music.
The following year, while recording in Nashville , at County Q Productions, owner Paul Scholten, liked what he heard in the final mixes and suggested pitching them to various record labels. Within 6 weeks, MCA called a meeting to discuss his future, which included forming a band. . In 1992, David put his career in the hands of a brand new label, BFE/BMG Records. His first album titled ‘Signature’ was released in March, 1993 along with his national television debut video from the single, ‘1-900-2-LONELY’ which aired on TNN and CMT.
In 2005 his "Cowboy's And Engines " tour was cancelled after the Gulf storm "Katrina" ravaged his home town and left him yearning to get back to his family. After many years of working in the racing & music Industry, David is living in his home town writing and working with up and coming artist Lisalee Albriton. Grey co wrote and produced several tracks for Lisa Lee Albriton's current album which includes a pure country smash "Zero To Sexy". The song is receiving some amazing reviews with country radio.
