“Glory Bound” - “Another really lovely project...lovely track that” - Marie Crichton
BBC Radio Shropshire
singer songwriter and great big goof
Hometown: Calgary, Winnipeg,
Perth Record label: Borealis
James Keelaghan (vocals and
guitars) often joined by any of the following:
Zav RT (piano's fidola), Hugh
McMillan (bass, octave mandolin, pedal steel, lap steel), David Woodhead (bass,
8 string bass, lap steel , mandolin)
Born in Calgary, Alberta on October
28, 1959 Keelaghan is a Canadian folk singer-songwriter. He has taken
main-stage at some of the most prestigious festivals in the US, England,
Australia, Denmark and Hong Kong. At home in Canada, he’s a Juno award winner
(and three-time Juno nominee), and a Canadian Folk Music Award winner who’s
grown from a popular coffeehouse act in Calgary to a festival and concert hall
favourite.
Called Canada’s finest
singer-songwriter by one of the most respected and lauded music journalists of
the last 50 years, James Keelaghan is an artist who has proven to be a man for
all seasons. As the calendar pages have turned, for almost a quarter of a
century now, this poet laureate of the folk and roots music world has gone
about his work with a combination of passion, intent and intensity, and
curiosity....It was Dave Marsh, the award-winning American music critic and
historian who not so long ago stated that James Keelaghan is “Canada’s finest
songwriter,” and those few but powerful words of praise say it all about an
artist who continues to set the bar at a lofty height.

“Damn This Storm” - ”Really nice sound, I think he’s really great” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire
Genre: Badass
Country
Hometown: White
Bluff, TN Current Location: Nashville,
TN
Record label:
Big Fleet Entertainment
Influences:
Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Randy Travis, Otis Redding, The Temptations, Muddy
Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and the Allman Brothers
Growing up in
White Bluff, Tennessee…Sunday afternoon
at the Fleet house meant getting
family and friends together for a little back porch music potluck. It always served up a plateful of Gospel, Bluegrass and Country music. It sure did spark an interest in young Larry, and with the help of renowned guitarist Kerry “Doc” Stone he learned to play. By the age of 7, he was invited to perform at the world famous Ryman Auditorium where he played guitar in a Bluegrass group performing the classics, “Orange Blossom Special” and “Wildwood Flower”.

By the age of 7, he was invited to perform at the world famous Ryman Auditorium where he played guitar in a Bluegrass group performing the classics, “Orange Blossom Special” and “Wildwood Flower”.
The traditional
country sounds of Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin and Randy Travis all influenced
Larry, but when a family friend requested that he play, “Sitting On The Dock Of
The Bay” he became introduced to a whole new world of music. The smooth styles
of Otis Redding, the Temptations and Muddy Waters continued to shape him.
"Damn This
Storm" is the initial single from Larry Fleet, with a Sept 15th impact
date, with a music video being filmed 8/20.
