Kaitlin Butts

Full
of reflection, daydreaming contemplation, sharp wit, tough decisions in the
midst of dire situations, rosy love, and beaming growth, what else can she do
finds country music’s Kaitlin Butts in full bloom.
Country music’s Kaitlin Butts’ WHAT ELSE CAN SHE DO finds the emerging songwriter delivering a collection of delicate, strong, and gallant characters and transformative storytellers. What Else Can She Do is a visceral display of just how raw and mighty words and actions can be–and how sometimes, knowing when to walk away can be just as compelling.
“These
songs are all stories from different women facing the question: What else can
she do,” says Butts. “I don’t think that life is all that pretty sometimes and
it comes with pain and pushing through hard times, or being stagnant, going
through the motions, and not knowing what to do, or just being flat-out angry with
whatever life has put on your plate.”
Following
up her delightful debut Same Hell, Different Devil and a diverse run
of singles–the cosmic dancer “Marfa Lights,” haunting murder ballad “White
River,” and the sweet tranquility of “How Lucky Am I,”–What Else Can She Do
finds the Oklahoma songwriter in full blossom. Behind her flowing locks of
auburn hair, Oklahoma twang, and a wry grin, grows a demanding voice and
equally devastating storyteller.
Regan
Stewart is the epitome of the music she grew up on, as she carries the torch
with her feminine touch to a traditional country sound. Recorded at Castle
Recording Studios, Brandon Hood co-wrote and produced Stewart’s upcoming music.
Auburn, Alabama native, Regan Stewart, began writing songs at 8-years-old and
has quickly made a name for herself in Nashville. Stewart has been featured on
Rolling Stone, NPR, Taste of Country, CMT, and many others. In 2018, she was
asked to join Jake Owen’s team on USA Network’s Real Country.
Regan Stewart calls to mind “Merry Go ‘Round”-era Kacey Musgraves with her song “Drop Dead Gorgeous,” marrying a sweetly sad melody to an acidly funny swipe at a “Jolene” type who’s getting a little too close to her boyfriend. Lushly produced with a nod to the fullness of the Nashville Sound, “Drop Dead Gorgeous” doesn’t hold back on the clever, as Stewart sings, “Pushing up daises would really be the best thing for you/Go to hell, you might as well drop dead gorgeous.” - Rollingstone Aug 2020
