Swift Leads Billboard's 2014 Money Makers: Pop-country juggernaut Taylor Swift, crushed
it on nearly every level in the past year, and claims the top spot on Billboard's
annual Money Makers rich list. Swift proved adept at capturing revenue
from every angle this year, earning a whopping $39,699,575.60. Fuelled by 2012's "Red," the
singer's album sales were eighth among all of Billboard's Money Makers,
while on the digital front she sold nearly 10 million downloads, ranking
sixth, and fifth in streaming royalties -- tops in country music. Revenue
from six months of touring the United States on the Red Tour tops all
fellow money makers with an estimated take of $30 million. Boxscore. The
tour also boasted lucrative sponsorships (Keds, Elizabeth Arden, Diet
Coke) and a ravaged merch table, which averaged $17 per head. Joining
Taylor in the Top 10 the Money Makers rich list were Kenny Chesney ($32,956,240.70) at
#2 and Luke Bryan
($22,142,235.98) at #8.
- Terri Clark's PledgeMusic campaign to fund her next
studio album with fan contributions surpassed its goal in less than a
month (730 pledgers raised 111% of the goal)
- Miranda Lambert’s new album, PLATINUM, will be released
on June 3. She wrote or co-wrote eight songs and chose the others
based on how they reflected her personality or world view. The first
single, "Automatic," suggests returning to a slower time and way
of thinking. She contemplates her self-image in "Bathroom
Mirror," takes on tabloid scrutiny in "Priscilla" and teams
up with several guests on songs that underscore her range and willingness
to experiment. The collaboration with Carrie Underwood on "Something
Bad" brings together two of country's most popular stars. (Source Associated Press)

"Goodbye Tonight"
- I think you're going to enjoy it - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire
Beautiful Pop/ Americana
Raised In Virginia, and
based in Nashville, Amelia White cut
her musical teeth in the New England area, in the same scene that produced Mary
Gauthier, Lori McKenna, and Aimee Mann.
Her music has been described
as hard rocking-folkin-alt-art country. Her albums BLUE SOUVENIRS and BLACK
DOVES (funzalo Records 2006) put her on the map with critical acclaims
nationwide.
"The songs come out of
me hard and heavy-- regularly. They walk the line between Neo Folk, raw well
made rock, and rootsy pop. They have a lot of heart, and a good dose of
intellect, and every few songs have a political and social
consciousness....sometimes you have to listen twice to get em, though some can
easily grab hold of you like an old Hank Williams. Some call them Indie
Country, some Americana, Some Folk Rock. To me they are the stories of my life
and love and what I see in my friends eyes, strangers stories” she shares. Read

Home, history and family
take different shapes on her album Old Postcard released on March 4, 2014. Over
steadily propulsive drums and echoing guitars, the album’s title track finds White
looking back at the ghosts of her family, realizing that dreams that don't come
true are still dreams after all.
Old Postcard features
"haunting" melodies, something White, often compared to Lucinda
Williams, embraces. "There's definitely some ghosts floating around in
this album," she told USA Today
