- The English country/folk/pop music Hampshire
duo, hail from Petersfield, comprise 20-year old test tube twin sisters Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas. Birthdate March 28th.
- A strong creative legacy runs through both
sides of their family. Their grandmother Evelyn Anthony, the pen name of
Evelyn Ward-Thomas, wrote over forty novels and their great-grandfather Henry Christian
Stephens was an inventor for the miltiary. Their parents, whom went
through a divorce when Catherine
and Lizzy were aged twelve,
played in a band together and their mother has become a recognized painter
for her visual art. Their brother Tom is an actor and a playwright.
- Catherine (alto) and Lizzy (soprano) began
singing in a choir in a convent singing classical songs. When aged 15 they
became influenced by country music listening to The Dixie Chicks, Carrie
Underwood, Miranda Lambert and via the 2005 film Walk The Line, based on
the early life and career of Johnny Cash.
- It was during their 6th form school year at
Hurtwood House, a boarding school for the arts based in Surrey, England, that
Lizzy and Catherine began writing songs. During 2010 they gave their first
public performance singing songs by Carrie Underwood to school friends. Their
voice teacher sent a tape to Nashville producer, composer and musician
Bobby Blazier and the recording process began, taking trips to Nashville during
school breaks.
- They represented the UK at “CMA Presents The Aristo Global Show”
on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at The
Second Fiddle in Nashville, hosted by one of Australia’s top Disc Jockey’s
Ben Sorensen (Australia). Further details Aristo PR

worked with Chris Rodriguez (Producer, previously guitarist in Keith
Urban’s band), Bobby Blazier (Producer), Jeremy Hunter and Dan Dugmore

Festival Pop Stages and released their first UK 4 Track EP FOOTNOTES on
7th April (iTunes) with a debut full length album
due to drop this Summer. Ward Thomas embarked on their first UK tour in
February 2014.
- The 4-song EP features three original songs
co-written by the girls and recorded out in Nashville and a cover of
Dougie MacLean’s classic ‘Caledonia’. They write and sing about family,
friends and their continued string of wild adventures. Life's questions, cheerful
moments, honesty, love and laughter is what inspires them to write their music
stories. The first single ‘The Good & The Right’ displays a longing
for a simpler time, discusses people’s relationship with technology, takes
a subtle dig at radio whilst looking for a more inspiring message and
lyrics. The song Take That Train is a true-life story about love lost and
a chance for redemption, inspired by Lizzy’s brief encounter with a
complete stranger on a train who confided in her. “We need to stop and
realize even the small, everyday decisions we make become footnotes in our
bigger life stories.”
- Their new radio single “The Good and the Right “ was played on Weekend Wogan on BBC Radio 2 Sunday
March 9th (see playlist) . They appeared live on
