Crab Apple Lane:

It’s all a little overwhelming, this roller coaster ride called Crab Apple Lane, but bandmates Kirk Wynn and Deena Robbins (who were raised in Knoxville, TN and both now live in the Fountain City area) are loving the ride.
Wynn graduated from Halls High School in 2004 and started playing drums when he was 12; it’s been his instrument of choice for several years, although his family gradually introduced a guitar into the mix, which he plays while he sings for his current band. They’ve only been performing together for 14 months, and it wasn’t until 2014 that they got serious about turning the project into a band.
Credit that to those gorgeous harmonies — their voices blend with such sweetness and beauty that listeners can’t help but be smitten, by both the individuals singing and the songs themselves. “Country” is as apt a moniker as any for what Crab Apple Lane does, but even that isn’t entirely accurate, given what passes for country on mainstream radio these days. - “I think both of us just get sick of that kind of music; not to take anything away from those artists, but I just cringe at doing something just because it’s going to make me successful,” Wynn said. “We’ve had plenty of opportunities, but we’ve talked it over and decided to just do whatever we want to do for as long as we can get by with it. (The Daily Times.com)
Both Kirk and Deena carried many different roles as local and mainstream musicians. Deena grew up in a family that just poured musical talent and this apple didn't fall far from that tree at all. From her first steps on, she's been a natural born performer with a set of pipes on her that country music may or may not be ready for. Kirk fell on his musical talents a little later in life. Though always having been around country music as his grandfather was a well-known "pic n grin"er in the area, he didn't really focus on his musical talents much until around high school. But soon after, he saw the light and threw everything he had at making a life out of music. Fast forward a few years, throw in a few chance meetings and gigs, and then you'll find the precursor to what eventually became known as Crab Apple Lane. Kirk and Deena had played here and there together around town but never thought much of it. But as time went on, a few joking conversations about creating a band, and one "for the heck of it" recording later, they realized there was something special there and decided they had nothing to lose but to join forces and bring the world of country music to Crab Apple Lane.

Maddie & Tae

“Girl In Your Country Song” -  “Something contemporary now and they resent being the type of girls that all the men seem to be singing about nowadays, it was a bit of a grower for me” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

18-year old blondes Maddie & Taelyn (Maddie Marlow and Taelyn Elizabeth – Top PHOTO!) are a new Country Crossover duo on DOT Records (Big Machine Publishing).
Check out the full transcription of the lyrics which takes down bro-country's treatment of women, it also directly calls out some of the offenders - not by name but by catch phrases and hooks from their tunes.

Their influences range from classic (Dolly Parton) to current (Carrie Underwood) to crossover queen Shania Twain, who they call “THE thing” while growing up in Texas and Oklahoma.
They met in 2011 via a vocal coach and known collectively as Sweet Aliana. The girls are well on their way to laying claim to a new country sound. Love is in the mix, yes, but there are bigger themes of life and relationships, along with some frisky role-reversals. And their genre of choice seems the natural home.
The girls met via a vocal coach during a showcase in late-2011, and the chemistry was instantaneous. Less than a year later, they’re inseparable. Finishing each other’s sentences. Giggling at inside jokes. Crafting songs that seem less works of studio art and more expressions of their inner-selves.
Quotes:
"Amazingly big talent, consistent musicians, and they sing great" - Dan Huff (Producer)
"Your not just looking at a single it's something that is right song at right time with a genuine act who can deliver this message, it's not just that, you see all of the depth behind it and you can't sit on an album's worth of material like that" - Mike Molinar (Publisher)
"Girl In A Country Song is just the tip of the iceberg" - Aaron Scherz (co-writer/co-producer)
“One of the reasons we activated Maddie & Tae right now, it started with this song, ‘Girl In A Country Song’,” says Big Machine CEO Scott Borchetta in the duo’s >> EPK. “I think we’re starting off Dot Records with an absolute heater. There is a gaping hole for a female act to come and re-engage teenage girls in the format. It really hasn’t happened since Taylor (Swift).”
CMA Close Up Maddie & Tae performed at the AT&T Showcase Stage at AT&T U-Verse Fan Fair X on Saturday, June 7 during the 2014 CMA Music Festival in downtown Nashville.....

The debut single was sent to radio on August 25, with an adds date of September 15th.  For The Mediabase Country Chart tracking week September 7 to September 13, 2014 "She Does" gained 33 fresh radio commitments (ADDS) to earn the "Most Added" title for the week from 149 tracking stations.

Jane Kramer

“Plant Me A Willow Tree” -  She’s got a really good voice, rootsy country with a folk edge, 11 songs, 10 orginals, lovely front cover - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Americana / Folk / Acoustic Country/ Appalachian Folk
Record Label: Independent

Blurb: Sometimes the title singer/songwriter conjures up the notion of coffee house background music or lyrics one could take or leave, set to acoustic guitar. With her unforgettably sweet yet
hauntingly emotive voice, her intricately poetic lyrics and timeless melodies, Portland, Oregon-based, (long-time North Carolina-dwelling) artist Jane Kramer brings a fresh and distinctive take on the genre. Her soulful songs, drawing deeply from the roots of American folk tradition, are compelling stories—raw and honest—that are powerfully intimate and stay with you. In love with words and with an arsenal of fraying notebooks full of poetry and melodies in her head, Jane wrote her first song at age seventeen and recorded her first full-length demo of 16 original songs at age nineteen. Jane moved to Portland, Oregon, where she has been writing, performing and recording. Her debut solo release, Break and Bloom, recorded and engineered at New North Sound and mastered by Sound Lab Studios in Asheville, NC, was released on July 26, 2013, (an accompanying music video for a track on the album, >> “The Devil Don’t Want" http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=3Ocl0jCYWm8 was released on May 3rd). The album is comprised of ten original songs and one cover—the riveting gospel tune, "How Far am I from Canaan”, and includes the sultry, summer night longing of classic country-influenced “Georgia”....Read More Bio

Joy Styles

“Fast” – “I heard that song and I thought that was the one to open up the country show, some songs are just made to drive to” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Genre: Pop Country
Hometown: Outside Philadelphia   Current Location: Nashville, TN
Record label: 764 Records   Affiliation: SESAC
Influences: Dan Fogelberg, Dolly Parton, Brian McKnight, Reba, Garth Brooks, Whitney Houston, Jim Croce, Sugarland, Chrisette Michelle, Rascal Flatts

Pop Country Singer in Nashville :-) I'm just trying to be me!

Blurb: With an amazing voice, electric smile and undeniable talent, a new voice in country music is ready to make her mark on the entertainment industry. With the release of her single,’ Fast’, (>> see video ) Joy Styles is already well on her way toward proving herself as one of country music’s new vocal and songwriting forces.

She grew up in Pennsylvania  and was blessed to be able to use her dramatic and vocal talents as a child. While other kids played, Joy honed her craft by taking piano lessons, attending summer performing arts camps and singing in her church choir.
The first time Joy stepped on stage at the age of 4, she was hooked.
Music was always a huge part of her life and was influenced by many different styles. It was her mother that exposed her to country music - “My mother listened to Dolly Parton, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Reba, and Tim McGraw. I heard their songs, and thought ‘This is what I want to do!”
What Joy loves about country music is the vulnerability - "It doesn’t matter if you are male or female, you can lay it all out on the table and say ‘I’m absolutely nothing without you in my life. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me.’ It's loving God and family, and hope of redemption. It’s not about pretending" she shares.

After finishing her education after attending Wellesley College Joy moved to New York City with only $400 and a dream and began perfecting her skills. She lived and worked in the Big Apple as a singer, actress and voiceover artist. While there she would align herself with SESAC as a songwriter and on a visit to Nashville she fell in love with the city. Shortly after, she made the move to the south to focus totally on being a country music artist.
Joy Styles is excited for radio programmers and fans to hear “Fast.” Of her single, she says “I really love the song. I did not write it. I got it from my friend Liz Morin at Showbiz-Ro music, and it’s one of those songs when you hear it, you put your hair down. It’s about the feeling when you’re with the person you love, and you can’t wait to get there – no matter where they are. When you have a plan to see them at 8 o’clock, and by hook or by crook, you’re going to get there because it’s such an amazing feeling you have being in love with this person.”
A debut 5 track EP titled TRYING TO BE ME was self released back on July 27, 2011 (Amazon.com) which reflected the emotional journey of a woman who knows the value of past mistakes, and reemerges stronger, without shame or regret. The first release, “Crutches,” shows the strength of a lady who has moved beyond relying on the validation of others to depend on her faith in God and her own inner strength.
Now after spending time paying her dues as a singer and songwriter in her new home city, her dream of making it big is coming true. Joy is now an artist on 764 Records, an imprint of Red River Entertainment, and is on the edge of country music stardom! Her new EP, is entitled, UNBREAKABLE which came out on Sept 2, 2014 on US iTunes
Her new EP came about after co-producer Pat Severs played pedal steel on a gig with her at the Rutledge in Nashville. “After that, he said, ‘I think you’re ready now. My brother [Michael Severs] and I want to produce you,’” she told The Boot...Read More: Joy Styles Releases New EP, 'Unbreakable'
Fast, Joy Styles. The Pennsylvania-bred, Nashville-based troubadour delivers driving country-pop with a bittersweet edge on this single - USA Today
Joy Styles has a voice that can go from sweet honey straight to sultry smoke and whiskey while she pulls you in with self penned lyrics from a life that’s been lived. You can feel the realness of Joy in every note and well tuned phrase….she is a true singer/songwriter with the power to go all the way!! - Julie Moriva (Songwriter for Scott Borchetta’s Big Machine Records/Super 98 Publishing Company)

“Joshua” – ”A really beautiful subtle track...really lovely, very nice voice” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Born: 6 December 1986
Genre: Country
Record label: Independent

Aleyce Simmonds the 27-year old Port Macquarie, New South Wales Aussie native and singer-songwriter comes to the UK playing several dates (mostly in London Tour Dates) with an invitation to be a head-lining artist at UK Country Music Festival (Sept 6th 2014), YeeHaw UK (Rockingham Castle, Rockingham, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16). It brought with it both surprise and honour for Australian Singer/Songwriter, Aleyce Simmonds. “I’ve never been to the UK but always wanted to go. To actually be paid to go over there, play my music at one of UK’s biggest Country Music Festivals AND get to see another Country for the first time is a dream come true!!”

Simmonds is no stranger to Australian country music audiences. A 4 times Golden Guitar nominee, she rose to prominence in 2005 after winning the Telstra Road to Tamworth competition.
Since then she has delivered No.1 singles, hit videos and toured extensively with artists from all ends of the country music
spectrum. Hers has been an old-school country music journey – complete with successes and failures, broken hearts and even physical adversity.
Her single "Stronger" (writers Aleyce Simmonds, Jay Collie and Jasper Somerville-Collie) from the BELIEVE album reached a peak of #28 (currently #40) on the Austrialian Country Tracks Top 40
The title track (written by Aleyce Simmonds, Michael Carr and Nicky Kurta) also was Top 5.
Believe is her 2nd studio album. The title track, Believe was nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the Country Music Awards of Australia.
The album consists of feature vocals from Golden Guitar Winner, Lachlan Bryan, Karlee Simmonds and Glen Hannah.
BELIEVE, produced by Simon Johnson at Hillbilly Hut, made a debut at #4 on the ARIA, All Genres Hit seekers chart and #7 on the Australian Country Albums Chart.

“I’m extremely proud of this record” said Simmonds, “the songs are very personal to me. They come at the conclusion of a turbulent six year period, and represent a significant growth in my understanding of the craft of songwriting”.
First single and title track Believe debuted at No.5 on the iTunes charts and has already found a home on country music radio
The 13 heartfelt songs on 'Believe' show a woman at her most vulnerable – yet most defiant. They are the songs of a maturing artist that’s been to the crossroads, and chosen her path.

As the calendar pages have turned, for almost a quarter of a century now, this poet laureate of the folk and roots music world has gone about his work with a combination of passion, intent and intensity, and curiosity....It was Dave Marsh, the award-winning American music critic and historian who not so long ago stated that James Keelaghan is “Canada’s finest songwriter,” and those few but powerful words of praise say it all about an artist who continues to set the bar at a lofty height.

Larry Fleet

“Damn This Storm” -  ”Really nice sound, I think he’s really great” - Marie Crichton BBC Radio Shropshire

Genre: Badass Country
Hometown: White Bluff, TN  Current Location: Nashville, TN
Record label: Big Fleet Entertainment
Influences: Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin, Randy Travis, Otis Redding, The Temptations, Muddy Waters, Jimi Hendrix, and the Allman Brothers

Growing up in White Bluff, Tennessee…Sunday afternoon at the Fleet house meant getting
family and friends together for a little back porch music potluck. It always served up a plateful of Gospel, Bluegrass and Country music. It sure did spark an interest in young Larry, and with the help of renowned guitarist Kerry “Doc” Stone he learned to play. By the age of 7, he was invited to perform at the world famous Ryman Auditorium where he played guitar in a Bluegrass group performing the classics, “Orange Blossom Special” and “Wildwood Flower”.
The traditional country sounds of Merle Haggard, Vern Gosdin and Randy Travis all influenced Larry, but when a family friend requested that he play, “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay” he became introduced to a whole new world of music. The smooth styles of Otis Redding, the Temptations and Muddy Waters continued to shape him.
"Damn This Storm" is the initial single from Larry Fleet, with a Sept 15th impact date, with a music video being filmed 8/20.
Check out Larry’s website for his own brand of "Bad-Ass" hot sauce and "Smells Like Lust" perfume
